Gunnar Daan (1939) studied architecture at the Technische
Hogeschool in Delft. Since then, he has filled a number of
positions such as consultant for the Floriade in Drenthe,
board member for the Groninger Museum, supervisor of the Duinterpen
III expansion plan in Sneek, coordinating architect for the
renovation of the city centre in Alphen aan den Rijn, member
of the selection committee for Jaar van de Boerderij (annual
farmhouse competition), etc.
With the use of distinctive sweeping eaves and bay windows,
Gunnar Daan has given the corner of the Fluwelen Burgwal and
Calliopestraat (Novelle and Mythos) a special cachet.
