Sjoerd Soeters (1949) studied architecture at the Technische
Hogeschool in Eindhoven and has been working as an independent
architect since 1979. In the role of supervisor/master planner,
he has been active in such projects as Java-eiland in Amsterdam,
Mariënburg in Nijmegen, de Veranda in Rotterdam, Marcanti
in Amsterdam and South Harbour in Copenhagen.
In the Resident he is responsible for three remarkable buildings,
known as Helicon. He changed the face of the area along the
Turfmarkt and the Parnassusplein with the creation of three
striking office blocks, shops and parking spaces.
