MAB launches first phase of 'De Resident', a project development in The Hague’s city centre MAB has now started realising its project development in The Hague to be known as De Resident. This is a substantial part of the plan for “Den Haag Nieuw Centrum” (The Hague New Centre), a dramatic urban renewal project stretching from Utrechtsebaan to the Spui that will involve an investment of approximately NLG 2.6 billion over the coming years. De Resident – a city-centre project including offices, shops, homes and parking garages – is part of this and will cost around NLG 550 million. The building site for De Resident is bounded by Fluwelen Burgwal, Herengracht and Turfmarkt. Its realisation will create a link between the inner city with its low-rise buildings, and the large-scaled offices near The Hague’s Central Station. Completion of De Resident is planned for 1999. Today, the official first pile for De Resident was sunk by both Mrs E. Borst-Eilers, Minister of Health, Welfare and Sports, and Ms M. de Boer, Minister of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. Bouwfonds Financiering Vastgoed B.V. is financing De Resident. MAB B.V. in The Hague is an independent project developer that develops and redevelops city centres in the Netherlands, Germany, France, and England. Orders currently in hand amount to approximately NLG 3 billion. Februari 8, 1996 |
