Renovation of office building MCMX Office
The Hague, 1 July 1999 – MAB will be transferring renovated office building MCMX Office in De Resident to its new user, Jacobus Recourt, on Friday, 2 July. MCMX Office, located on Fluwelen Burgwal, has three stories and approximately 1350 m2 of floor space. This classic piece of architecture that once accommodated the Freemasons dates from 1745. In accordance with architect Peter Drijver’s design, the renovation retained many of the building’s original elements. Project developer MAB hired Van de Hoek as the contractor for renovating this office building which is an investment of Kantoren Fonds Nederland (KFN). De Resident is a multifunctional project bounded by Fluwelen Burgwal, Herengracht and Turfmarkt. Actually a city within a city, it serves as a transition between the low-rise buildings typical of the old inner city, and the large-scaled offices in the vicinity of The Hague’s Central Station. MAB, an independent integrated property company operating in the Netherlands, Germany, France, England and Belgium, is engaged in the entrepreneurial development, management and purchase of property. Ever since its founding in 1970, MAB has specialised in the development of major spatial planning projects in predominantly complex inner-city situations. July 1, 1999 |
