The FGH Real Estate Award rewards outstanding initiatives in the real estate market. The award recognises initiative-takers who show outstanding courage, vision and entrepreneurship in the execution of real estate projects. In making its decision the jury also considered the extent to which the initiatives demonstrate sound project economics and a responsible approach to risk-taking. In addition, criteria such as architecture and social impact played a role in determining the final selection.

FGH Bank, the real estate bank, launched the FGH Real Estate Award in 1989. This year the now prestigious award will be presented for the eighth time. Any Dutch real estate can be submitted for the award if it comes into use in the two years preceding the year in which the award is presented and has a floor area of at least 5,000 m2. Both new buildings and redevelopment and renovation projects are eligible.
