Introduction
Igor Mitoray’s “Per Adriano”
|
The mask called “Per Adriano”, which the German
artist Igor Mitoray (1944) created in 1993, is 2.3 metres
high, 2.5 metres wide and made of bronze. The underlying
ideas that are recurrent in all Mitoray's artworks result
in classic heads and figures, in various states of decay
and transformation.
Mitoray’s sculptures are in fact more than shadowy
spirits, but less than complete beings.
