  Ministry VROM
Strategically situated, between Centraal Station and Town Hall you will find the Ministry of VROM, along the new pedestrian route to the city centre. The use of glass indicates the open character of the building, one of the main aspects the architect, Jan Hoogstad had to take into account. Inside, palm trees, subtropical plants and designed gardens contribute to the friendly character of the building.

  Central Station
In 1968 the Central Station and its office block formed part of the Redevelopment Plan Nieuw Hout. The station is built as a head station with twelve tracks ending onto a wide arrival hall. Above the platforms are the town's main bus and tramway stations. Facing the Koekamp an eleven storey high office building dominates the skyline. The massive ground floor facade, the roof of the central hall and the platform's roofing are all on the same level. In 1995 the Central Station was again refurbished to meet today's passengers requirements.
